Job Description:
Bend Bioscience is focused on research, development, and clinical production of non-sterile drug delivery technologies, drug products, and intermediates for the pharmaceutical industry. In this role, you will be instrumental in defining and building an operational infrastructure to support growth, innovation, and compliance. The Facilities and Operations Manager will develop and maintain operational systems, policies, practices, procedures, and workflows that meet GMP requirements for investigational new medicines for use in the US and Europe.
The Facilities and Operations Manager works collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary Bend Bioscience team to progress client programs by:
- Developing and implementing operational systems, procedures, and work instructions focused on the facility, warehouse, and process equipment
- Implementing and maintaining asset management, preventative maintenance, and calibration programs
- Creating equipment and facility qualification policies, procedures, and protocols
- Managing materials logistics and workflows including reliability of supply, inventory and shipping and receiving
- Developing and maintaining training programs related to site safety, facility, and operations
- Collaboratively assisting with daily operations including batch record drafting, approval, and execution, troubleshooting, and investigations.
- Monitor and oversee the work of external contractors
- Collaborate with clients and suppliers to successfully progress client programs through clinical stages
- Drive continuous improvement of operational systems

Experience and Educational Requirements:
- BS in scientific field with 5+ years of industry experience
- Experienced and understanding of working in a GMP environment and adherence to compliance
- Experience in operations and/or facility & warehouse systems in the pharmaceutical industry
- Experience in a contract development and manufacturing organization preferred
